It seems that radical islamists aren’t the only ones capable of distorting religion into something so wrong that it’s no longer recognizable. The cult calling themselves the Westboro Baptist Church, more accurately referred to as the Phelps extended family of hate, has threatened to stage one of their protests at the memorial services for the five Amish girls killed in the school shooting earlier this week in Pennsylvania.
The Westboro Cult claims that Governor Ed Rendell (PA) is responsible for the Amish girls’ murder, because he dared to take a public stand against them.
Slime. Sick, deranged morons with an agenda that I can’t begin to fathom. The Westboro bunch is attempting to extort free air time in exchange for not demonstrating at the funerals. Heidi has the rest, I don’t have the stomach for it.
