March in Alabama

Seventy degrees one day, dreaming of summer just around the corner and snowing the next. Doesn’t happen often down here so when it does I get out in it immediately because it’s usually gone in a few hours. Two weeks ago we had a tornado rip across the ridge just a mile or two behind my neighborhood and several trails were blocked. A crisp cold morning with a fresh dusting of snow seemed like the perfect opportunity to spend a morning in the woods.

If you study the trees you can see where several snapped off about 20′ high.

Minor clearing involved here but the one trail I cleared was an all-morning job.
