Stand-up Comic

With a captive crowd in a packed house… ok, Senate.  Tonight’s jester host is Al Franken – live from DC it’s Saturday Night!  Can’t you see it?  It would be a classic.  Only problem is who will play Al Franken playing Al Franken?

And the Clown announces the Jester:

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid issued a statement to “congratulate Senator-elect Al Franken, the next senator from the state of Minnesota”.

He added: “The people of Minnesota will now finally get the brilliant and hardworking new senator they elected in November and the full representation they deserve.”

Was Harry slamming the people of Minnesota? Hard to tell.

Depending on your view, there won’t be any intentional comedy.

Living in MN and watching the campaign was a joy in that Norm Coleman could be as funny as ever, but Al had to play it serious.

He could even be the straight man. He had to be a Serious Candidate.

Those of us refugees from Iowa just shake our heads at the second rate entertainers that the Gophers seem to need to elect.

Seriously, with pipe and slippers in hand,

Sorry for the grammatical error.

He COULDN’T even be the straight man.

And that, is funny.

Sounds twisted. I bet it was fun waiting for Al to crack!
