Canon 50D with 100-400 L plus 2x extender mounted on a tripod, mirror lock-up engaged and timer on the shutter to avoid any shake. Too bad I didn’t have that figured out for last week’s super moon! The 50D doesn’t have the full size sensor of its big brothers which gives a lens conversion factor of 1.6 so with the big zoom at 400mm and the extender in place we’re at 800mm. Factor in the 1.6 and now we’re at 1280mm! The smaller sensor comes in handy if you’re trying to pull nature in close but it becomes a handicap with close-up work.
Have a great day – never miss a sunrise if possible!
