Honors

by Steve on March 27, 2012

The funeral ceremony for Captain Carroll “Lex” LeFon USN (ret) was held today at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetary on Point Loma. Full traditional military honors were given including a fly-over by an F/A-18 with a Kfir on his wing, an usual but fitting formation. It’s been terribly quiet around here without the daily dose of the good Captain’s wit and wisdom. One of the group (thanks Dan) found the image below in the Navy archives:

It’s from back in 2003 but it’s “his” ship, the decommissioned Connie (CV-64), being towed past the National Cemetary on Pt. Loma on her way to Bremerton, WA.

Rest easy, Sir.

**Update** FBL posted a heartwarming review of the celebration that was our man.
